يأتي هذا في الوقت الذي تحث فيه المملكة مواطنيها الأثرياء على شراء أسهم “أرامكو” في طرحها العام الأول.
وجاء اسم الوليد بن طلال وعائلة العليان، بالإضافة إلى كبار رجال الأعمال العاملين في مجال النفط كأبرز الأسماء المشاركة في الاكتتاب.
وحسب المصادر فإن عائلة العليان التي تمتلك حصة كبيرة في مصرف “كريدي سويس” السويسري تفكر في شراء أسهم “أرامكو” بمئات الملايين من الدولارات، وأن الوليد أجرى محادثات لتخصيص مبلغ كبير للاكتتاب العام على أسهم عملاق النفط السعودي
وأضافت المصادر أن ممثلي “أرامكو” تواصلوا أيضا مع عائلة المجدوعي، التي تعمل في مجالات عدة، منها توزيع سيارات “هيونداي موتور” في السعودية والخدمات اللوجستية، للاستثمار في أسهم “أرامكو” على اعتبار أن نجاح الاكتتاب الأول في أسهم هذه الشركة العملاقة من شأنه أن يلقي الضوء على القيمة الإجمالية لها والتي تقدر بتريليوني دولار.
ويشار إلى أن الوليد من أشد الداعين إلى الخصخصة في المملكة وهو دعا لذلك في عهد الملك الراحل عبد الله بن عبد العزيز إلا أنه كشف لاحقا أن خطاباته تلك لم تكن تصل للملك بسبب شخص منع ذلك دون أن يسميه، فقرر اللجوء لحل آخر وعدم الاستسلام.
